Hi dear Finnabair friends,
It’s the beginning of the new year, which is always filled with hope and expectations of what the future will bring. Since the past few years weren’t the easiest for most people, I truly hope with all of my heart and wish to all of you beautiful people, that it will be the year of health, prosperity and blessing and I hope we will all again be able to spread our wing and fly high.
With this in my mind, I was inspired to make this altered mixed media box for my treasures.
In the last years I’m noticing I’m leaning more and more towards natural colours and colour schemes. Maybe my spirit is calming down, getting in peace with things around me and so are my creations most of the time.
I first covered my box with some tissue paper Carte Postale, which is one of my most favourite tissue papers from all the collections. I then covered it a bit with a dry gessoing. I added some corrugated cardboard on top and also dry-brushed it with a bit of white gesso.
On top of cardboard, I added a piece of Finnabair chipboard from Steampunk Flowers collection, which I coloured with Yellow Rust paste and dry-brushed with white gesso again.
Then I started placing my embellishments, using some gorgeous Mechanicals pieces and some elements from nature. I finished it off with a bit of a Gold Glass glitter and a bit of a Gold glitter from Finnabair, which I applied with Soft Matte gel and added some splatters of white colour on top.
I also decorated the front side of the box.
