Winter Town In Spring Colours by Anja

Hi creative friends, did you already get to see the new release, and what is your favourite? I instantly fell for the Winter Town houses, which I used in my project.  Because it is a little too early to do winter magic, it is in sweet pastels provided by matte waxes, with a touch of steampunk gears.

I started with one of the beautiful papers from Butterfly Effects, designed by Finnabair for 7 Dots Studio and added a bold stencil with texture paste white crackle.

Although a bit of work all elements got painted separately first with liquid acrylics, gesso and mat waxes. With all that work done, it is time for some fun. My favourite part, making composition and adhering all the pieces. I really enjoyed the process and invite you to join me by watching the video.

Hoping I could inspire you a bit to create.

Mixed media retro-style tags by Kasia Salmanowicz

 Hello,

this project is designed for those who enjoy creating pieces rich in detail and texture, featuring subtle stories hidden between layers of paper. I created two HDF tags featuring the warm color palette of the "Butterfly Effect" paper collection, accented with steampunk elements from Finn’s ephemera sets.

The base consists of tags covered in paper in muted shades of beige, sepia, and brown. I then added further layers, small cards, labels, lace fragments, and twigs, giving the composition depth and a slightly distressed look.

The focal points of both tags are retro-style die-cut images which you can find, of course, at the Mixed Media Place store. Butterflies, vintage numbers, clock faces, and text elements create an atmosphere of mystery and time travel. It is precisely these small details that make each piece unique and invite the viewer to linger and take a closer look.

You can see how I created this project on Finnabiar’s YouTube channel. I warmly invite you to watch.

Have a nice day,

Kasia Salmanowicz

Vintage wooden box by Kasia Salmanowicz

 Hello!

I always love using papers from the Butterfly Effect collection by Finnabair and 7 Dots Studio. They fit my style perfectly, making the creative process a real pleasure.

This time, I’ve decorated the lid of a flat wooden box. The base is a sheet from the Butterfly Effect collection, complemented by pre-cut elements from two new sets that come together to form a beautiful composition.

I also added driftwood sticks, lace scraps, HDF elements, and paper flowers from Prima. I arranged all the decorations to create a dimensional look, giving the project depth and an interesting structure. Finally, I lightly whitewashed the piece and finished it off with Art Stones, which added extra texture to the composition.

If you’d like to see the step-by-step creation process, I invite you to watch the video tutorial I prepared. The video is available on the Finnabair YouTube channel.

Enjoy the video, and see you next time for more inspiration!

Have a nice day,

Kasia Salmanowicz
