Dream Journal by Lori Woods

Hello creative friends!  I say this every time but I am in love with Finnabair’s latest release! The super versatile new sizes of decoupage paper, even more stencils and the absolutely gorgeous new effect paste sets- so many possibilities!

I’ve had my Finnabair denim journal for a while and could never quite decode how to decorate it so I decided to try out one of the new decoupage sets and Nightdreaming seemed like a great fit for a journal cover. I applied this with soft gel and the flexibility of the paper was perfect for an object that will get a lot of use.

I used one of the new Knots & Knits stencils and the beautiful Twilight Pearl paste toe create a shimmery background. I then layered up various mould elements and used Sparks paint to continue the dreamy theme.

I finished off with the Magic Potion effect paste to give everything even more sparkle and then highlighted around the elements with some White Pearl wax. A dream come true!

Time Travellers Mixed-media canvas by Lanette

Hello Amazing Creative Souls!
Today I’m so excited to share a Mixed Media Canvas featuring Finnabair’s brand-new Time Traveller Collection! This release is pure magic — every piece works together beautifully, and I couldn’t resist using them all for this project!

I started by building my background with the gorgeous Decoupage Fiber, which added instant texture and interest. Then I layered in color and dimension with the Wax and Effect Set — the tones are absolutely stunning! To finish it off, I chose a striking piece from the Ephemera Set as my focal point, pulling the whole design together perfectly.

Want to see how it all came together? Pop over to the Finnabair YouTube Channel to watch the full creative process!

Thank you so much for stopping by today — I hope this project inspires you to dive into your own creative adventure.

Until next time — Hugs and Happy Creating!

Twinkle, Sparkle, Shine - Denim Journal

Hi, my dear ones!
Summer, my favourite season of the year has started - I was waiting for this time when you can smell the fresh grass, eat some seasonal fruit or vegetables straight from your garden, enjoy staying outdoors, simply basking in the sunshine. I love the long days and short, warm nights. Gentle showers and smell of the storm coming. It's simply magical... now when we moved to Ireland Summer is a bit different to what I was used to, but I like this change a lot! In the last days I could compare Polish and Irish Summer and I believe each one has many advantages... Irish Summer will never leave you sweaty, sticky with no air to breathe in - which happens a lot in Poland - but you may miss your sunshine a bit here! Which one do I prefer? I like both gentle Irish and dramatic Polish weather and if possible I'd like to enjoy a bit of each one every year ;)!
Here is one of the few photos from the last week - one quiet moment - drinking my tea on the bridge near old water mill in the middle of Polish countryside. I had a chance to sneak out to take a bath of fresh air during big family party. I love them all, but enough was enough :)

As I was away I couldn't make a new project for  you during last days - but fear not, I always have something waiting t be published, waiting for it's turn in a long queue... Do you remember my last week's post about classes in India, including one of the projects I was teaching during amazing weekend in Delhi? Here is one more - Sparks Denim Journal!
When creating a sample for this class in the end of the last year I wanted to create something over the top, so shiny it will take me far beyond my comfort zone, all sparkling, shining, glittering and twinkling... I combined all the most eye-catching art mediums and Art Ingredients to get the results I liked... and then added the most shiny acrylic paints I had in my line!
Can you see this combination of Glitters, Glass Glitters and beads, adding texture and beautiful sparkle? I made sure my composition will really stand out - not only using tons of tiny, shiny bits and pieces but also using the most beautiful, jaw dropping combination of Art Alchemy Sparks (super shiny metallic acrylic paint) and Metallique Waxes. You can't go wrong this way!
All the metal elements - my Mechanicals from Prima and all the findings like buttons, lace, trims and more got beautifully transformed into rich, eye-catching cluster decorating the cover of my denim journal. I love the results - and the fact you can do it in ANY colour palette! So many possibilities, right?
Now it's time to go back to my preparations and arrangements for my next travel - visit in the USA, which will start next week! So many things to do, not so much time... You can check where and when I'm going to show up here, in the Classes section of the blog. Enjoy and have a great, creative week!
hugs

Hello dear friends!
My last art journal page is already placed in my Denim Journal and makes me really happy when I open it and the first thing I see are these beautiful colors.
I always love to incorporate a variety of colors on my pages. It just cheers me up and makes my day every time. :)
The Art Alchemy acrylic paints come in such yummy shades and I can't resist to use almost all of them in my projects.
So, after I used the Heavy White Gesso to prime the page, I started by painting with my favorite colors using a paint roller.

When they were dry I used the 'Bubbles' stencil to create some round shapes here and there with the Rich Turquoise paint.
Then I grabed a black permanent pen and wrote the lyrics of my favorite song 'Other People' by LP.
I used Clear Gesso to seal the text, just to be sure that it won't come off in the next steps.

After that, I painted with some White Gesso here and there to blend the colors and the text with the white background.
I also used the black pen to add some doodling here and there...

Then I dealed with the bubbles. I wanted some spark in there and the Sparks Acrylic Paints were perfect for this effect.
I used three of my favorite shades: Raven BlackIris Potion and Mermaid Sparkle.
I also used the Mystic Turquoise and Amethyst Magic Antique Brilliance Waxes to achieve an even more shiny result. I realy love how they turned out.
I used a small tag to write down a quote I found on Pinterest and decorated it with these cute Mechanicals Wings, a button I had in my stash and thread in different colors.

Last thing to do was to make some splashes with the Black Gesso to add a bit of contrast.
You can see in my video below how I played with all these delicious colors and how I built this page.

Thank you for visiting and I hope my music inspired project will give you some creative ideas :)!

I wish you all a happy crafty day and weekend!
