A Curiosity Mixed-media Project by Lori Woods

 Hello creative friends! It's been a while since I've created an assemblage piece so when I was deciding how to use some chipboard shapes, that seemed like the perfect option. I wanted to make a project that looked like an exhibit from a curiosity collection with a bit of shabby rustiness too!

I started with a chipboard house as a base and used a piece of resist canvas as the base to create a sort of carnival theme. I gathered together lots of mechanicals, some mould pieces and odds and ends from my own collection including a old radio vacuum tube, then assembled everything together.







I used various waxes to highlight the mechanical details in the project and the base to give it an old shabby metal look. And of course added lots of rust paste to create the grungy effect.

Mixed-media assemblage by Wiola WuWu

 Hi everyone,

You know I love journals but I love assemblages too. So, today the assemblage on wooden box with a lot of media and found objects. I made background using white sand past and patina paste. Next I added various colors of impasto, liquids and waxes to create really great texture. I added my favorite metal embellishments and a lot of various pieces from old clocks.
