May Ambassadors' Spotlight

Hello friends,
It's time for our fabulous ambassadors!! May host is Gayle Price and she has chosen "acrylics and stencils" to play the main role in all Spotlight projects.

Below you can see project created by talented Gayle Price, Vasilis Kontos, Riikka Kovasin and Sylwia Gryczuk.

Hello lovely Finnabair friends, Gayle here today along with some other very creative Finnabair Ambassadors, to share with you our joy at using Finnabair Stencils and Liquid Acrylic Paint. Finnabair’s latest release of stencils are all absolutely amazing; combining beautiful organic designs like “Dandelions”, “Oriental Wall” and “Laurels” with old world whimsy such as “Read My Letter”, “Gothic” and “Vintage Wallpaper”.

I love the Finnabair Liquid Acrylics. These are little bottles of full on pigment, very pure and intense. They are super easy to use and and varying shades of one colour from dark to light is simply done by adding tiny amounts of “Liquid Color Fluid Medium”. These paints are also beautifully translucent, so even though delivering very intense colour, they allow layers underneath to show through.

I have used stencils, collage and Liquid Acrylics to decorate the cover of a small Finnabair Art daily Mixed Media Journal, and made a little photo video of my process.

Hello Artsy Friends! This project is straight from my TandiArt fairy tale I love painting on wood and recently liquid acrylics are my ‘go to’ art supply. I love how vibrant they are and ho well they flow. In this project I used few stencil designs with texture paste.

When the design was dry, I applied the liquid acrylic and brush over the texture. This way, the design will pick some of this pigment up.

Be gentle forever
What a wonderful topic for a project – stencils and Liquid acrylics! I chose to do an art journal page with these two.

I started by using the Soft Matte Gel to adhere a piece of tissue paper to my page. Then on top I used my first of two stencils, the “Oriental Wall”, and applied 3D Gloss Gel through it. After letting the layer dry thoroughly, I then took several colors of the Liquid acrylics and added them to the page. I chose vibrant, joyful colors and let those mix together on top of the project. I used a heat tool to speed up the drying and then took the other stencil I used for the project, “Gothic” and applied black paint through it to the page. I also added some stamping to add more interest and texture.

Only after I had my background treatment ready, I started sketching the character, before that it was just a floating head! I used both a regular soft pencil and a black watercolor pencil to draw the details. I also added a halo to the lady and colored that using Metallique paint. I added some golden touches to the texture as well.

I find working with Liquid acrylics soothing. They act almost like watercolors but are permanent after drying. You can use them to start your project or to finish it. You can build layers or add just a hint of color. I haven’t used them excessively in my projects before, but I think I should start exploring them even more!

Like find it in an old box of the grandmothers I create with stone paper a midori (notebook) looks  like faux crackled leather using modeling paste plus three liquids acrylics
True yellow
Carmine
Burnt  sienna
When I finish the creation of the fake leather effect I wanted looks more Vintage so I add clear crackle in some corners of the notebook.

Inside I create different layers pockets so you can add photos notes money credit cards pens etc or the memories after a beautiful trip.

After with a sponge and icing paste  I add some different stensils here and there from the new collection of Anna’s.

In the opening of notebook I create a composition with metallics embelissememetns from Anna’s collection and photo from the album VINTAGE PHOTOBOOTH
No ITS NOT MY GRANDMOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!....:)
I HAD A LAYER with white gesso all the composition after burn sienna and tiger orange liquids acrylics and to the end black and brown matte wax.to create some highlights I use metallic wax aged brass. Also in some point I add soft matte gel and add some old gold vintage beads

To the end I used In all the notebook mattes waxes black and brown for the ageing of the notebook.(in love with mattes waxes and the result they give)
Enjoy dear crafters and I hope you liked it
Vasilis

Have a great day!!
