Dark Forest Fairy mixed media canvas by Lori Woods

Hello creative friends! Sometimes the smallest things can spark big ideas in our heads. I was looking through my paint colours and picked up the Dark Forest Metallic Acrylic- suddenly my head was filled was images of fairies flittering through dark woodlands, mysterious plants shimmering in the moonlight, a secret magical fairyland!

I started by covering the base with Dark Forest metallic paint and a stencil. I then coloured various mould pieces in complementary colours to the Dark Forest green and chipboard pieces with Emerald Green jewel paste.

The obvious focal point for my project was one of the gorgeous Finnabair Fairyland transfers. I started to build the chipboard and mould pieces around the transfer to create the magical centrepiece. Mechanicals, waxes, Sparks paint and die-cuts provided the finishing details to the project.

I have a video tutorial for you here if you’d like to see how I created this:

Colourful textures by Anastasia Korvyakova

Hello everyone! It’s Anastasia here with mixed-media project and video tutorial. This time I altered the box and created colourful surface using Finnabair Metallic acrylic paint Golden Moss and Liquid acrylic paints - Umber, Ochre, Tiger Orange

As the first layer I used White Gesso. I applied it in large strokes to get a textured surface. I also used White Crackle paste to get another texture on some places.

I covered all the surface with Golden Moss acrylic paint as the 1st layer, and then with liquid acrylic paints. I used waxes to give some places depth and make the surface more colorful

Butterfly kisses by Martina Stoycheva

Hello everyone!

This month I decided to use one of my embroidery hoops to alter. They are very convenient in case you need circular shaped canvas and you don`t have one.

I combined gears, with flowers and butterfly. So still steampunk, but with a soft touch. My favorite! Only this month I changed the color palette from neutral, beige-brown to ultramarine with touches of gold and lime.

Texture comes from white crackle and white sand pastes and a few Mechanicals.

You can watch my video tutorial:

Happy crafting!

Hugs, Martina.
