Hello Sweeties,
Today I'm on Finnabair's blog with a new mixed-media canvas board inspired by the monthly theme: Creatures of the Night.
I cut the Star Menagerie paper from the Stargazer collection to the canvas size and used Soft Matte Gel to glue it. Next, I covered the edges with Paper Paste. When dry, I painted the Paper Paste with different Liquid Acrylic paints to obtain the background colours of the photo.
I covered the cogs and the chains with Rust Effect Paste. When the paste was dry, I highlighted the details with the Old Silver wax.
I primed the light bulbs with White Heavy Gesso and covered their thread with the Rust effect Paste. Next, I covered the light bulbs with White Pearl wax and highlighted the filaments with the Honey wax.
I primed the Grungy Frame with Black Heavy Gesso and highlighted the detail with the White Pearl wax.
I added a small skull at the top of the frame. I primed the skull with White gesso and highlighted the details with watered-down Ink Black liquid acrylic paint.
I used the Heavy body gel to glue all the elements of the composition.
To finish, I added a design with the stencil Book of Numbers and the Rust Affect Paste.

For the Creatures of the Night topic, I’ve taken a whimsical dive into the world of cute-creepy art. This piece began as a simple doll, but with the help of Finnabair’s amazing range of products, I transformed it into a charmingly eerie ghost following the class by my friend and also Finnabair ambassador Olga Heldwein.
I used basic mediums to prepare the doll and stick the elements, liquid acrylics blending shades of deep blues and black to give the ghostly figure an otherworldly aura. To elevate the ghostly feel, I used a combination of different waxes, which brought out the intricate details and gave the piece an ethereal glow. By altering the doll in this way, I’ve created a unique representation of the nocturnal spirits that inspire both fear and fascination, blending cuteness with a touch of the macabre, and it was really easy using the versatile and high-quality products from Finnabair.

Recently, my desk has been dominated by colours, although I don't always use a lot of them in my work. Sometimes 2 or 3 are enough to change the mood of the work and our own. Today, I am sharing a journal entry from an old, forgotten book where I created textures using structural pastes and gesso. Additionally, I played with circles cut out of watercolour paper. The whole thing became coherent and complete. Today, I worked with Liquid Acrylics and impasto inks. These two products are my favourite choices when adding colours, and when combined with water, you can do a lot with them.
