The power box by Kasia Bogatko

Today I have for you the project, which at the beginning was to be another rusty artwork. However, I decided to combine the rust effect with the new, matte waxes and the effect delighted me.

This construction is a large wooden spool and a lid from the box. I glued all the elements with 3D gel, which is reliable in this type of projects. You can put everything on everything and you can be sure that nothing will fall off. I filled the whole back wall of the box with resin numbers and colored wit Liquid Acrylic paints (True Yellow and Burnt Sienna). They may not be very visible, but they definitely make up the whole effect you see.

To get a very grainy structure on the edges, I used one of my favorite Texture Paste - Graphite. I also covered all the elements here and there with a rust effect paste set. There was also blue-green Opal Magic paint, which in combination with rust works perfectly. Probably at this point my work would be over, but I decided to try to add a few more touches with a new, matte wax - Patina Green. On a dark background we get a little more blue shade than we see in the tin and it suited me well. The wax is velvety creamy and perfectly matte, I applied it with a dabbing brush or with my fingers. I highly recommend you experimenting with this new product, because the effects are wonderful and completely different from metallique waxes.

I think you did a fantastic job. There are so many elements that tell the story of the two figures in the front. The colors are perfect.
