Altered Hanger

Hi there my Friends!
It's Bipasha's turn on the blog today and you will quickly see she's my altering soul mate! ;)
Just like me she appreciates the beauty and endless possibilities of seemingly ordinary objects around us... You will also find a video tutorial so don't hesitate and create some altered art with us!

I have a special love for recycling and altering household items.
For today's inspiration, I altered a metal hanger into a rusted timeless decor.
I started with adhering all the Mechanicals metals embellishments from Finnabair along with other bits and pieces (from my stash) on my hanger to create the composition.
The base and support for all the embellishments were little pieces of wood hot glued to the hanger.
Once I was happy with it, I added some Pumice Stone Paste for texture and Melange Art Pebbles and Art Stones (mixed with liquid glue) randomly to blend in the look and create some connectivity in the design.
I love the way how the addition of these mediums in any project creates magical dimensions and textures.

I also printed out some vintage photos from Pinterest, fussy cut them out and added to my composition for an extra added charm...
Next, I coloured everything with Black Gesso. Once dry, I started adding the brown hues of Art Extravagance Camouflage Rust Effect Paste to create an aged and grunged effect.

Occassionally, I added some Metallique acrylic paint in Royal Blue to create some colourful interest.

Finally, I added some highlights and contouring to my project using Metallique Wax in White Gold and dry brush strokes of White Gesso for highlighting.
Please enjoy my step by step video tutorial I made especially for you!

I hope this inspires you to alter your unused household items and delve into the ocean of endless creative possibilities with Finnabair's products!

Happy creating!
xx
Bipasha
