Home decoration by Anastasia Korvyakova

Hello mixed media fans! Anastasia is here.

December is the time for warm sweaters, mugs of hot cocoa or tea, and long cosy evenings by the fireplace. Poinsettias in home decoration and wreath on the door are reminders that Christmas is near. This is a wonderful time and my new mixed-media panel about this.

To create this project, I used a lot of my favourite Finnabair materials: Laurel and Floral Net stencils, Burnt Sienna and Ink Black acrylic liquid acrylic paints, Lucky Emerald antique brilliance, Sage Leaves, Stained Wood, Charcoal Black Matte Waxes; White Pearl, Aged Brass, White Gold Metallic waxes etc.

I made the composition using plastic elements from Vintage Portraits, Wings and Bones, Nocturnal Elements moulds and metal flowers.

For almost all my Christmas work I use shiny materials. To this project, I added white glitter from Abloom set and Silver metallic flakes that were aged with Burnt Sienna paint.

I prepared a video tutorial for you and I hope you will like it.

May the blessings of the season fill your life with joy and hope! Merry Christmas!

Nature Winter Fairy by Katja Joulak

Hello mixed media lovers!

I really enjoy finding items from nature to use in my projects. Here I have glued with gel wooden sticks on cardboard. This is my background for my wintery projects. For my focal point, I have a piece from the Vintage Portrait. Mini Art Stones for the extra texture for the wintery feeling.  The Woodland Fern matches the nature theme.

The is a video waiting for you. Enjoy!

Let me know what you think.

See you soon again.

Xoxo Katja

The most magical month by Kasia Salmanowicz

Hello,

the most magical month of the year is ahead of us. I really like creating Christmas projects, they are really special to me. I have a mixed media layout for you in bright colours. I also invite you to the video tutorial in which you will learn all the details.

I decided to make my project on a canvas. In the beginning, I used one of the Finnabair stencils in combination with a texture paste. I applied it pointwise so that the pattern did not fill the entire surface.

After drying, I added the HDF Christmas tree in a pot, and then I reached for various types of accessories. There are beautiful metal embellishments from Finnabair, lace, bow, dry sticks, plastic cabochons and small HDF accessories. I glued larger elements with Heavy Body Gel, and accessories like lace with 3d Matte Gel because it has a more fluid structure and is so comfortable for me.

Then I dried the whole elements very thoroughly and covered it all with white gesso. Some elements had to be painted several times to get better coverage.

For colouring my layout, I chose paints from the Liquid Acrylic Paint series  Burnt Sienna, Green Avocado and Black Ink. Plus a little water so that the colours are not too intense. I dried the coloured design thoroughly and additionally whitened some elements. I really wanted this project to be very clear and white. In addition, I used Crushed Ice paste, which shines beautifully so it fits perfectly with the atmosphere of Christmas and winter projects.

Hugs and I wish you a Merry Christmas,

Kasia Salmanowicz
