Dear friends,
Today we would like to showcase projects by Finnabair's Brand Ambassadors.
This month the host is Aga Baraniak and she has chosen this month theme - everything is connected with Metal Elements. Feel invited to see all the projects by Finnabair Brand Ambassadors: Aga Baraniak, Vasilis Kontos, Gayle Price and me - Tusia Lech. Enjoy this inspiring journey!
Metallic elements can be a main element in projects... but they do not have to be necessarily covered with media. Sometimes it is better to leave they as they are. Personally I do not like to be any disturbance for metallic elements to inspire us - this is their beauty.
I prepared an inspiration with a raw piece of wood, that was meant to be used in my fireplace. I hope that this project will show you a beauty of raw metal.
So the theme for the February Ambassadors is METAL ELEMENTS. I have chosen to decorate and embellish Finnabair’s Prima Art Daily Album........a very strong and supportive base for all things metal ! It was given a base coat of Finnabair Heavy Black Gesso first.
I do love to collage, and along with paper, you can, of course, collage with all kinds of materials including metal.
I have started with the most delicate of papers........Finnabairs beautiful Decorative Tissue Paper ( Solar and Carte Postale) I enjoy the interesting contrast between the light, soft and delicate paper with the heavy, grungy, rusted and patinered metals. There is then a second layer of paper.....the old, but still very beautiful “sleepless” from the Dreamer Collection from 7Dots Studio.
Next, a stenciled layer using Finnabair Icing Paste in Vintage Gold and the Finnabair Stencil 6x6 Doily.
Lastly the metal pieces were added from Finnabair’s Mechanicals Range...... so many to choose from !!! Some were already rusted and some weren’t. Some I colored with Finnabair’s amazing Blue Patina Effect Paste ( my favorite) or with the truly beautiful Mettalique Wax in Vintage Gold. A pop of colour was added to the flower centres with Melange Art Pebbles.
Of course all the adhesives I used were Finnabair Soft Matte Gel, for the papers and Finnabair Heavy Body Gel for the Mechanicals.
Collage does not always have to be flat. So much beautiful interest, dimension and texture can be added with metal elements.
A steampunk project with patina effect with clay vintage background with cracking paste and stencils, impasto colors, art alchemy metallique colors and a lot of metallique embellishments.
The inspiration is memories from the war and all the composition is on a big wooden cogs.
Our main goal this month was to focus on Metal Embellishments. I created a canvas using lots of Finnabair Mechanicals and tones of her media. To tell the truth this canvas is very difficult to photograph it. The reason is there are a lot of metalic waxes and shiny, glittery elements that are difficult for a camera. Detailed photos show this project much better than the main one :) I hope you will like it though :)
Have a great day!!
Finnabair Team
