Canvas "Find yourself" by Olya Kravets

Hello lovely creative friends! Today I'd like to share with you my new Mixed media canvas. This time you will find a story about a multi-layer canvas with my favorite Impasto paints, Fantasy Pastes and Mechanicals from Finnabair.

I used Impasto Paint for the base, it is a dense material that is so interesting to work with and create colorful backgrounds. I take a few shades and mix them. But first, to make the background more textured, I apply a bit of Paper Texture Paste. When the first layer is completely dry, I just use my fingers to highlight the texture using a contrasting Impasto Paint color. It's simple and so nice for an artist!

I cover all the details of decorative elements with Fantasy Paste blue and patina. I like the small texture that comes with these pastes, because they have small grains and it looks so alive! I count light and dark shades of the same color for variety and contrast. When the elements are ready I create a composition.

To add more color, I use a bright orange color of Wax and apply it here and there. It gives radiance and looks just incredible. And to add an effect of contrast I took Art Ingredients - melange vintage art pebbles and a few metal elements. A little more Art Stones and glitter and all my love and work is ready!

I invite you to watch my video tutorial to see the whole process of creating my project. Enjoy!

2020 - refreshing and what is the schedule for this year?

Hi my Dear Ones!
I know the beginning of the year may be tough and it is not easy to make our body and brain move after the festive time during the Christmas and New Year celebrations... but, slowly but surely I want to work on stretching my creative muscles and I hope you are going to join me on this path!
First of all - I've focused on re-decorating my social media channels. I know this is not a big thing, but I feel it is a fresh start!
I've changed the look of my Finnabair Private You Tube Channel - adding new header and making the playlists will be easy to find.
What can you find in there? It is a good mix of tutorials, step-by-step project videos, product explaining, Live Shows recordings...and finally a new thing, Video Journals where I'm trying to talk to you directly about everything... Interested? Check it out here!

The same we did for our official Finnabair Creative Team Tutorials You Tube - do you know you can see all the videos with the BEST projects explained step-by-step by my super talented Team Members - all in one place?
Well,  you can! In the times when blogging is less and less popular the luxury of having tutorials delivered to you 2 times a week is something you should not miss - all you need to do is to subscribe Finnabair Art Files and ring the bell!

Are you a fan of Pinterest?
I am, although I have to say I wasn't using it enough in the last 2 years... now, all refreshed and organised it is coming back to you - with boards full of visual inspiration for you to check, repin and share with your friends. Love Story by Kasia Bogatko

My today’s project is the next edition of my favorite rust structure. This time I combined classic colors with the Northern Lights rust pastes set. It turned out that Turquoise and Powder Blue blend well with classic brown and red. To get the most structure out of these pastes, I applied them with a dish sponge, thanks to which we get a nice, rough surface.

The background of my composition is metallic paper with an embossed pattern, which I aged with a sanding block. I didn't want it to look too new and shiny.

In this project I used various materials - metal, paper, plastic. Thanks to the use of pastes, the whole blends in well with each other.

One of the most interesting elements that I used was the plastic packaging with numbers. I usually don't throw away the plastic packaging because you can reuse it. Not only as here - as one of the layers - but e.g. as paint palettes or other media. Let's try not to generate additional rubbish, even during our creative process.
