Canvas Romantic vintage by Olya Kravets

Hello there lovely creative friends! Today I'd like to share with you my brand new inspiration - a mixed media canvas with lovely amazing Finnabair's products!

If you have not tried the new Finnabair products yet, I invite you to fall in love with them with me! New Tissue paper, moulds, stunning Liquid Acrylics, beautiful stamps and other mixed media goodies - you will find all of them in my project!

For the basics, I used a reverse side of the canvas and new Tissue Paper. It is amazing and so simple! You just need to stick it with Clear Gesso and you have a chic and interesting background!

I used new Liquid Acrylics to add color and saturation to my background. These paints are translucent, so the print from the paper remains beautiful and visible. This gives us a lot of new features. Also these paints are very concentrated, so you will need a very small part.

I made the decor of the Cling Stamps - Wild and free and cut it out. It turned out very delicate and beautiful elements. I also added a few strips of Decorative tape. Something interesting and creative for me.

For decoration, I made moulds from the new series from Finnabair. Each of them is universal and so beautiful. They are suitable for a variety of topics and projects! I love them.

And of course here you will find Mechanicals Flowers. I added textures using Rust Effect Paste and Acrylic paints. I love this combination! Then I select the texture with the Waxes. It adds contrast and extra colors and looks great!

There are also some interesting non-scrap materials. It always adds uniqueness to the project. Can you find them?

Sea Creatures Assemblage - By Finnabair

Hi my friends!
I can't wait to share with you my latest creation - assemblage on a piece of wooden panel which will go straight on one of the shelves of my "cabinet of curiosities" (which is more commonly named my main bedroom). It was made for Art Daily Cafe blog - and it was inspired by this gorgeous mood board and our new topic for March - "Fresh Look".

You may think I my interpretation of this topic is very down-to-earth, but for me  it was a perfect moment to find an excuse to go back to my roots and the real love - playing with recycling and upcycling ideas.  I've got quite large stash of found stuff at home - everything from old jewellery through rusy metal pieces to books and old paper - but torn between my everyday tasks, projects I need to do or get involved into I rarely have time to make something just for my own pleasure, without thinking how can I use this project later! I'm sure many of you know my pain!
So this time it all started when I took out one of my boxes and then my hands found something which most of people would simply toss away - and I noticed the similarity of it to inside of the shells or beautiful ocean creatures... then it all simply took off!

Once I knew what I am going to focus on, everything came together so quickly - I had a real "flow moment" putting things together and creating this assemblage inspired by the sea inhabitants...

And my unexpected finding was the heart of it all! Can you spot it?

I've really reduced the amount of "proper embellishments" to minimum this time. Except the metal seahorse  - which I think was a necklace - and a bunch of pearls, pebbles and screw heads all the objects you can see here are in fact my findings. And I have to admit - this is what makes my heart really happy! I love the result and I'd love to make more!

Working on the colour palette was easy - not only I had the emerald colour from the mood board but also I could use shades which are coming from the ocean - blues and turquoises. On the top of that a touch of rusty colours totally makes sense here - as salty water makes a lot of damage to metal elements, right? I decided to minimise the list of colour products used to Art Alchemy Liquid Acrylics and Metallique Waxes - and I love the results.

I'm wondering if you can guess what "my finding" really is? I'm sure you've got some good guesses! For your curiosity I took the photo of the project "before" adding all the colours, so you can see it a bit better... just check it below and let me know what do you think this "mechanical" part may be?

Vintage canvas by Kasia Bogatko

Hello,

Today I have a feminine vintage project for you. I decided to use large amount of embellishments and flowers. I placed the composition on a round base, which I decorated with a Passiflora stencil. I made the pattern using 3d matte gel, and after drying, I painted everything with black gesso. Art Alchemy Sparks paints look great on such a surface and their colours bring out a beautiful, flourish shapes. To emphasize all these patterns I also used several colors of waxes.

I wanted to make the central part of the project highly exposed, so I hid a lot of tiny twigs behind it. Among them I put paper flowers and those made of resin, from the new moulds that I covered with black gesso and highlighted with waxes.

I complemented my composition with butterflies and dragonflies from the "Dare to Dream" stamp set. I stamped them on the paper and cut out, additionally making a tiny butterfly body and antennae with a thin wire. I wanted this artwork to be feminine and flowered, and despite the dark background - cheerful and Spring. I hope I succeeded and you like it.
