Through the Window – Mixed Media Key Holder by Margarita Shkludova

Hello, creative friends! Margarita Shkludova here.

Today I want to share a very special piece — a key holder shaped like a window, telling a quiet story of nature and beauty.

In this work, a young woman gazes dreamily outside, where a majestic deer stands — a symbol of the pure, untouched world we should treasure and protect. The frame itself became a key element of the mood, with soft layers of color and texture. To enhance the details, I used Metallique Waxes by Finnabair — they add a rich, velvety sheen that catches the light beautifully, highlighting every curve, ornament, and intricate line.

It’s amazing how just a touch of wax can bring depth and life to a piece, making it truly glow.

Cherish nature, keep it close.

See you soon!

"Free Spirit" - Mixed-media layout by Lanette

Hello All, You Amazing Creative People!

As you may have noticed lately, our team has been diving deep into the Art Basics line—and for good reason! They’re truly the foundation of amazing mixed media projects (well, at least in my opinion 🙂).

For this layout, I put Finnabair’s Soft Gloss Gel to the test in several ways:

1. Through a stencil

2. Altering chipboard

3. Adhering paper

4. Adding the final sparkle with glitter and art stones

Some products are non-negotiable in my craft stash—and Finn’s Soft Gloss Gel is definitely one of them!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope I have inspired you in some small way to spend some creative time in your art space!!

Until next time, Hugs & Have FUN Creating!

Lanette

She dreams of starlight- mixed media canvas by Lori Woods

Hello creative friends! Sometimes you find and image or an element that seems to tell you a story and inspiration flows from it. This beautiful digital image told me tales of dark quiet nights, looking up at  the sky and dreaming of stars!

I started by printing out the image and attaching this to the board with some 3D gel to make sure it provided a good surface for any media. I then added small areas of details on the background with stencils and metallic flakes.

I created some small embellishment clusters at the points of the star and used white pearl wax to highlight the details. I finished off with some effect paste around the edges to create some extra sparkle!

The next time you find an object or an image and it starts to tell you its story, listen and let the inspiration flow!
