Be the change by Szafranowe Twory

Hi Creative Souls!

Have you ever tried decoupage on a round surface?

It was my first time! But this clock was practically begging for it!

And it turned out not to be difficult at all with the new decoupage papers.

Plus those adorable flowers and cogs from the moulds, a bit of waxes, and the Lady from the newest ephemera!

I love this clock in its new version - what about you?

Pumpkin Alchemy – A Mixed Media Autumn Project by Priss BlaFu

There’s something special about taking a simple object and watching it shift, layer by layer, into a piece full of character. For these pumpkins, I wanted a look that felt vintage and deeply autumnal, with just a hint of fairy magic—something warm and welcoming, like décor you’d place on your entryway table, adding cozy, seasonal charm.

To start, I altered a set of very basic 3D pumpkins to give them a more special, enchanted look. I used resin pieces from the Fresh Foliages molds and the delicate flowers from Rusty Flowers, building small focal points that added personality and texture right from the beginning.

I worked with translucent colors to build soft, glowing layers. True Yellow and Tiger Orange created a warm base, and water helped everything blend naturally into the matte gesso surface. From there, deeper tones and shadows brought out the curves and structure of each pumpkin.

To soften the natural shine of the Liquid Acrylics, I added a light coat of Soft Matte Gel, which immediately gave the finish a more vintage feel. Metallic accents, Sparks, and a touch of wax added that subtle shimmer and dimension without losing the warm, aged look. A few Titanium White splatters tied everything together with texture and contrast.

What I enjoyed most about this project is how each pumpkin found its own identity along the way. Altering them became a slow, cozy process. One of those moments where you forget the rush and simply follow where the layers want to take you.

Hope this little autumn project inspires you to chill out too, trust in your own magic, and let your creativity go wild.

Until the next creative adventure… and remember:

"Release, breathe, and keep creating"

❤️ Priss

Make a Wish by Judith Tijsen

 Hello to all of you.

So glad you've found the Finnabair blog again!

I've been so lucky to play with the beautiful Butterfly Effect scrapbook paper from 7 Dots Studio. My hands often start to itch when I hold beautiful scrapbook paper. I then have to embroider it with an embroidered border. The large sheet is decorated with zigzag stitches, and I've given all the tags an embroidered border.

Because I like the thicker thread, I first make the stitches on the sewing machine without thread.

Then I embroider it by hand. The photo is from the Stargazer collection by 7 Dots Studio. And of course, I gave it a nice border too. I finished it all off with some beautiful elements from Finnabair moulds.

You can see the details, the composition, the materials and the techniques that I have used in this video tutorial.
