Dreamy Butterflies mixed media project
Hello creative friends! Our moodboard this month is with the last of the new liquid acrylic sets, Dreamy, and the colours are very dreamy!
I decided to use pieces from the Nocturnal Insects mould as the main focus for my project. I built up the project using elements from the Mirror Frame mould and mechanical flowers, with chipboard for background detail.
I applied the Fresh Mint and Atoll Blue paints over areas of the project with water to allow them to flow into all the details. I then dry brushed over the background pieces but left the central mould elements so it would stand out more. Watered down Burnt Sienna liquid acrylic was then added to create shadow and pick out areas of detail.
For the finishing touches I added White Pearl and Mint Sparkle wax to highlight details on the butterfly wings and pebble elements.
