New Beginnings by Monika

Hello, Friends!
I can't tell you how happy I am to present another fabulously talented member of my Creative Team:

Monika is another Polish girl in my Team and you need to know that I have been under the charm of her Art for many years now. I was soooo thrilled when she agreed to join me in our creative adventure!
Monika uses a nick: Kolorowy Ptak and in Polish it means: A Colorful Bird. And she really is one.
Her choice of colors is always pure poetry and her unpararelled feel for vintage makes my heart stop.
Just see for yourselves...

Hello,
Today I'd like to show you my first project for Finnabair's Creative Team.
I must admit that I'm a bit jittery but also extremely excited that I will be able to work with such amazing mixed media products.
That's why the inspiration for my first work were the new beginnings...

3D Matte Gel was my love at first sight... For me, there's nothing better to achieve a resist effect!
I can apply a transparent layer of gel on a chosen area in my work, then add gesso and spray my heart away with all kinds of mists and paints. And the thing is that at the end I can simply use baby wipes to reveal the dimensional elements I wanted to leave visible.

When I was decorating the cover of this journal, I also used Soft Matte Gel and I must say that glueing has never been easier for me. :) And I mean anything goes - papers, fabrics, metal elements and for the first time in my life it wasn't messy and I wasn't covered with glue. :)

I also played with some another product from Art Basics line - Heavy White Gesso - its consistency was a reallly pleasant surprise and it took me no time to cover the chosen areas of my work.
I can't wait to start playing with Soft Gel again soon - I've been meaning for a long time to experiment with transfers.

If you're curious how I made this journal cover, you can follow the whole process in the video I prepared for you:

Here are some of the products I used for my journal (you can find a complete list at the end of my video):

I must admit that when I got my Creative Team parcel I couldn't make up my mind which jar to choose first. I hope you like my project and that you will feel inspired to play and try something new!
Lots fo love,
Monika

You can see more of Monika's breathtaking art on her blog, become friends with her on facebook or follow Monika's Instagram.

Feeling inspired?
I know I am! :) Drop by on Monday to see some more amazing Art of my Design Team.
Hug to you all

Very nice!! And feeling inspired, just received the whole collection of gel and paste products, the gels are amazing and love the idea here to put the gesso and/or paste over to get the look you want with dimension and color. This is going to be fun!
