A Curiosity Mixed-media Project by Lori Woods

Hello creative friends! It's been a while since I've created an assemblage piece so when I was deciding how to use some chipboard shapes, that seemed like the perfect option. I wanted to make a project that looked like an exhibit from a curiosity collection with a bit of shabby rustiness too!

I started with a chipboard house as a base and used a piece of resist canvas as the base to create a sort of carnival theme. I gathered together lots of mechanicals, some mould pieces and odds and ends from my own collection including a old radio vacuum tube, then assembled everything together.

I used various waxes to highlight the mechanical details in the project and the base to give it an old shabby metal look. And of course added lots of rust paste to create the grungy effect.

Dare to spread your wings canvas by Lanette

Hello All, You Amazing Creative People!

Today I am sharing my take on this month’s beautiful mood board that is inspired by the New Juicy Liquid Acrylic Set.

This set is a bright bold mix of colors that are beautiful! That said I typically would not pair these colors together, so this challenge was truly a challenge for me!

If you would like to see how this canvas came together you can watch my process start to finish over on the Finnabair YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope I have inspired you in some small way to spend some creative time in your art space!!

Until next time, Hugs & Have FUN Creating!

Lanette
