March Ambassadors' Spotlight

Hello friends,

Today our Brand Ambassadors will show you their inspiration. March theme is Gold or Silver with Metallic Flakes or Waxes or Metallique acrylics. The host is Olga Ravenskaya.

If the theme is gold, you can be sure that I will gladly get my fingers gilded! I love the combination of brown paste from the rust effect set with golden wax, it is a perfect combination, as if the two products were made for each other. I decided to decorate the art journal cover with chipboard, mold castings and mechanicals. To add even more gold sparkle, I added gold glitter from the new Autumn set.

When I saw this month’s theme, I immediately thought at this postcard I purchased the last time I was in Paris. I love the feeling of this scene. I can easily imagine the place where they come from: a dark room with a rich decoration of gold and silver. And here they are, quietly taking a little rest, in a simple pub between two representations. And you, can you imagine it too?

I glued some book page to the background and added paper paste. I used mica powders and liquid acrylic paint to color it. I added a design with Sparkling Onyx and Precious Rubies Jewel pastes and the Tapestry Wallpaper stencil.

The frame was primed with black gesso and covered with silver metallic flack and white gold wax. The other resin elements were painted with metallic paints in silver, gold and white pearl, Ink Black liquid acrylic to add some shadow, and waxes in the same shade.

To finish the composition, I added some glitters.

Celestial beings

When it comes to jewellery my definite preference is silver over gold. But when it comes to mixed media, I use both! For this shaker tag I decided to go mainly using gold to highlight the sun more, but I did add a little silver moon to it, too. The main reason favouring the sun this time was that quite some time ago I made a tag with the same kind of shaker dome inspired by moon and night.

I used different golden mediums while making the tag. The bottom layer is made using two colours of the Jewel Effect paste. I mainly used golden “Golden Dust” but added some warmth to it by mixing it with “Crushed Amber”. I applied these through a stencil on top of a cardstock which had tiny golden dots. On top I then added some painty touches using again two colors, Metallique “Gold Rush” and “Brass Hardware” to again to make the golden a bit warmer. To color the embellishments fitting for the golden tones I used “Vintage Gold” wax. The sun shape is cut from golden thick cardstock.

Hi loVelies

Well this black & gold theme has really tested me teehee!  Hey-ho!  I kept cool & calm and worked through the ugly (for a fair few days) and finally my 2 sparkly tags emerged.

Finnabair’s Art Alchemy range has a variety of diVine gold paints which look amaZing painted over a black background (especially the Opal Magic’s). I created the flowers & frame using Finnabair’s mouldings.  After painting with black gesso (the most exciting & magical step next!) rub with Art Alchemy Waxes to reveal all the tiny & beautiful details…such a shine too!  Swoon!

Take care
