Art journal page by Lanette

Hello, all you amazing creative people!

Today I'm excited to share an Art Journal page that I created using a beautiful mix of Finnabair favorites! For the foundation, I started with a sheet from the Stargazer Collection, then built up layers of rich color and texture using paints and gorgeous Metallic Flakes. I love how the vibrant blues, touches of gold, and dimensional textures came together to create a dreamy, artistic background for my focal collage.

One of my favorite things about art journaling is the freedom to experiment. There are no rules—just layers, textures, and creativity leading the way. It's the perfect place to play with your favorite mixed media products and see where the creative journey takes you!

If you'd like to see exactly how this page came together, be sure to check out my start-to-finish process video over on the Finnabair YouTube Channel, where I walk you through each step from the first layer to the finishing details.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I truly hope this project inspires you to pull out your favorite supplies, embrace the creative process, and spend a little time making something just for you.

Until next time... Hugs, and have FUN creating!

Lanette

Steampunk Love by Priss BlaFu

Hello! I’m Priss, and today I’d love to share a new mixed media project with you called Steampunk Love.

This piece started on a small heart canvas and slowly evolved through layers of texture, resin elements, and rich, oxidized tones inspired by steampunk aesthetics.

I began by building a textured background, combining decoupage fiber paper, dimensional paste, and dark edges to create depth and contrast. From there, I moved into composition, playing with resin elements like gears, numbers, and organic shapes, adjusting and rearranging them until the balance felt right. This stage is always about patience and experimentation. Remember to take photos to keep different layouts in mind before gluing everything down.

Color plays a key role in this project. I show how to work with mica powders mixed with Fluid Medium to make them permanent, and how to activate them with water so they can flow naturally across the textures. The result is a palette of aged golds, oxidized oranges, deep browns, and rich turquoises that reinforce the steampunk feel of the piece.

The focal point is a dragonfly, treated with metallic flakes and soft layers of mica powders to bring light and contrast against the darker background. And of course, the final details are essential — adding highlights and small metallic accents that enhance the elements and give the project its final character.

If you’d like to see the full creative process, step by step, I invite you to watch the complete tutorial on the Finnabair Art Files YouTube channel, where I share how this piece came together from start to finish.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful day of creative discoveries and joyful making.

Happy creating! 💙

Priss

Bold Bloom – Mixed Media Canvas by Margarita Shkludova

Hello, creative friends! Margarita Shkludova here.

Today I’m sharing a new canvas filled with bold colors and expressive textures.

This project is all about passion, energy, and confidence. Rich reds, warm pinks, and golden accents create a dramatic, almost theatrical mood. It feels emotional and powerful — like a celebration of femininity, strength, and inner sparkle. This canvas invites you to feel, to shine, and to embrace your own story without hesitation.

One of the key elements here is the crackle texture paste by Finnabair. I love how it transforms the surface, adding depth and a beautiful sense of age and character. Those active cracks bring movement and contrast, making the background feel alive and full of history. Combined with layered embellishments, metallic highlights, and soft details, the texture becomes truly expressive.

This piece feels bold yet romantic — a reminder that beauty can be strong, imperfect, and fearless all at once.

I invite you to watch the video tutorial on creating this canvas. Enjoy watching!

Creativity loves courage — don’t be afraid to add more color and texture to your story.

See you soon!
