Journey by Judith Tijsen

 Hello everyone,

Today I get to show you the very last project I created for Finnabair’s Design Team. Unfortunately, I am leaving the team after a year.

I remain incredibly proud to have worked with such an amazing team, and I look back on the experience with great pleasure.

Now, a quick word about the project itself. The base is a round wooden board measuring 30 cm. It has been treated with "Midnight Tides" effect paste and various colors of acrylic paint. The wonderful image comes from the "Chestnut Street" Fiber Paper set.

Naturally, I used various moulds from Finnabair and Prima Marketing. The stunning bright blue finish also comes from the "Midnight Tides" effect paste set.

You can see the details, the composition, the materials and the techniques that I have used in this video tutorial.

Vintage wooden box by Kasia Salmanowicz

 Hello!

I always love using papers from the Butterfly Effect collection by Finnabair and 7 Dots Studio. They fit my style perfectly, making the creative process a real pleasure.

This time, I’ve decorated the lid of a flat wooden box. The base is a sheet from the Butterfly Effect collection, complemented by pre-cut elements from two new sets that come together to form a beautiful composition.

I also added driftwood sticks, lace scraps, HDF elements, and paper flowers from Prima. I arranged all the decorations to create a dimensional look, giving the project depth and an interesting structure. Finally, I lightly whitewashed the piece and finished it off with Art Stones, which added extra texture to the composition.

If you’d like to see the step-by-step creation process, I invite you to watch the video tutorial I prepared. The video is available on the Finnabair YouTube channel.

Enjoy the video, and see you next time for more inspiration!

Have a nice day,

Kasia Salmanowicz

Art Journal Page "Professional Dreamer" by Priss BlaFu

Hello! I'm Priss.

Today I’m sharing a soft blue art journal page full of layered papers, stitched details, shimmer, and a dreamy focal point.

I started by cutting my main image from Decoupage Fiber Paper and mounting it onto a white gesso base, so the image would stay clean and bright. Then I prepared several tags from the Stargazer paper collection, testing lighter and darker options before choosing the darker ones for stronger contrast.

One of my favorite parts of this project was creating a custom blue spray to match the mood of the page. I mixed water, mica powder, a tiny touch of deep blue Liquid Acrylic, and a few drops of Liquid Fluid Medium to help bind the mica.

Creating my own spray allowed me to control the color intensity and repeat the same tone in different areas of the project. I used it on selected parts of the background and also to dye white silk ribbons, so the whole page would feel more connected.

To add more texture, I distressed the tag edges, added white stamping, and stitched over the printed stitched design with my sewing machine.

The background has soft pearl texture through a stencil, selected areas of blue spray, and dark blue stamping for extra depth. For the main composition, I layered tags, old book paper, lace, dyed ribbon, torn papers, and ephemera pieces.

At one point, I decided to trim the focal image and place it inside an ephemera frame. This helped the portrait feel more balanced and gave the page a clearer story.

The sentiment “Professional Dreamer” felt perfect for her: polished, ambitious, and full of dreams.

I finished the page with white splatters for light, movement, and balance.

I hope this project inspires you to look at your supplies in a more personal way. Sometimes a small custom color mix is enough to make all the layers feel like they truly belong together.

Happy creating! 💙

Priss
