Through A Lens by Lori Woods

 Hello creative friends!

I am obsessed with creating beautiful translucent additions to my project with Finnabair's Pearl Effect paste so I decided to make it the focal point with this project! It’s such a simple technique but it creates a stunning effect. Take a piece of clear film, I like to use old packaging film, and spread a layer of the paste over the size of the area you need. I like to press in chipboard shapes or other elements to create a complete embellishment, or you can simply cut it to the shape you need. It can take a little while to dry as the paste is thick but it’s worth the wait!

For the background elements of this project I raided one of my boxes of collected treasures so there is a lovely mix of old computer parts, screws, a paracetamol packet, chipboard leftovers and other assorted items. I attached these to the background and coloured everything with liquid acrylics to give a shabby patina look.

Dream, discover, explore by Szafranowe Twory

Hi there!

Look what I managed to hunt down and paint! It’s an old motherboard — or maybe a graphics card; I can't really tell the difference, but I definitely know what makes a beautiful background for this kind of decor.

A bit of black gesso and some waxes were all it took for the magic to happen! To top it off, I used pastes from the latest Dragonlight set — let everything glitter and shine!

I’m totally in love with this effect, how about you?

The Right Time Canvas by Lanette

Today I am sharing a Mixed Media Canvas featuring a few of Finnabair’s fabulous new goodies!

For the base of my project, I started with the Southampton Butterflies Decoupage Fiber Paper, which creates an instant background full of beautiful vintage detail. I love how these papers make it so easy to build a layered foundation for mixed media projects.

Next, I added a bit of texture and subtle shimmer using the Sunrise Pearl Effect Paste. The soft glow adds just the right amount of light to the background without overpowering the design.

After building my focal cluster with chipboard elements, metal embellishments, and layered details, I finished everything off with touches of Golden Dragon Effect Paste from the new Dragonlight Set. This paste adds the most gorgeous sparkle and really brings the whole piece to life!

If you’d like to see how this project came together step-by-step, be sure to check out my full process video on the Finnabair YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this project inspires you—even in a small way—to carve out some creative time and play in your art space.

Until next time,

Hugs & FUN creating!
