Isn't it a brilliant idea?!

Hello friends! It's Marta here. Today for you I prepared mixed media home decor piece, which was created for someone, who loves vintage music and old tapes. I mixed vintage style with some mechanical elements and metallic shine.

I used paper round box, which you can decorate in any possible way you want. At first I decided to cover it with a layer of black gesso. I used wide brush to create smooth, matte surface in the background. 

Later on I applied Icing Paste through the checkered stencil. It created a lovely, shiny pattern. I love Icing Paste, it has an amazingly rich color and beautiful, sparkling shine.

I added some metal elements, mechanicals, melange art pebbles, mini knobs, gears etc to create interesting details in the background. I covered them with black gesso again. I used an audio cassette as the main element of the composition on the box. I added tiny metal wings and a mini knob and I covered cassette with black gesso.

In the end I covered cassette and metal elements with mixed waxes to blend a few colors together. I used four colors of waxes to create rich, shiny surface. I applied waxes with a brush.

You can use even an old cassette to create personalized, special gift. All you have to do is to add a bit of your heart, a drop of creativity and some lovely Finnabair products!

Creativity takes courage - brilliant message brought to us today by Marta Turska! It takes courage to use also objects, that are not meant to be creative material, like a packaging from my Mechanicals and turn it into a piece of art!

Hello friends!

Today I have something special for you - altered tag (a piece of Finnabair Mechanicals package), which I decorated in mixed media style!

I used colors of sand and gold to make a perfect match with vintage lady from the beach (look at this amazing outfit!). I used some special Finnabair products to create lovely texture and magical colors.

First of all, I used some paper elements, washi tape and fabric plaster to prepare my background. I covered it with a layer of white gesso and I used a heating tool. Later on I used my favorite harlequin stencil with light paste to create some texture and pattern. I painted chipboard pieces with lovely golden acrylic paint and I used them as the element of my composition. 

I added a few different shades of rust paste, I started from the lightest one and I added a bit of brown and yellow and mixed it with the lightest one again. It helped me to achieve light, airy, mixed layer of colors.

I used chipboard pieces and a paper tag to build my composition, where I placed a vintage - umbrella lady. I used some rust pastes again here and there to accent the lady's figure. I added sentence stickers, some copper micro beads, some accents with metallique wax (it added a bit of shine and dimension to my project). 

A few golden paint splashes and a few vintage art pebbles were a cherry on top!

My project reminds me of golden warm days of summer. 

I love to mix Finnabair products to play with them, to achieve brand new colors and new possibilities.

New Finnabair products - Fantasy Texture Pastes, Opal Magic Paints and Art Pebbles - are extremely versatile and you can use them not only for altering objects and off the page projects. Marta shows us today fantastic sample of using Finnabair new products in art-journaling.

Hello Friends!

It's Marta here again! I'm back with my brand new art journal spread created especially for Finnabair Creative Team with the newest pretty babies from Finnabair. New colors of Rust Pastes - Enemone and Coral - surprised me and I felt intrigued, how do they look like mixed together?

I couldn't wait! I started by preparing my art journal's pages. I used an old book. Pages are just covered with a layer of white gesso and some washi and fabric tape. I used gesso only in a few places, just a few touches with a silicone brush, just a few smudges. It makes the letters at the background visible - I love this effect. 

I used Paper Texture Paste to create a bit of texture at the background. It's smooth and it has lovely edges. I love to use it with stencils to create just a hint of stencil's pattern. 

It's time to a bit of color! I used Opal Magic Acrylic Paint in a lovely Blue-Green shade. I mixed it with water just to create a sparkling cloud of color hanging between the layers of my composition. I build my composition with some paper scraps and fragments of old pages, which I covered with Rust Effect Pastes starting from the darkest one. When I applied the darkest paste, I highlighted it with a bit of orange and rose ones. I applied them with a brush and with a finger and mixed them with water. It created the effect of old wall. I love the Taupe Rose shade, that's why I used it in a few places as a paint. 

Chipboards were covered with Opal Magic Acrylic Paint, it created sparkling lovely details on my pages. I added some paper elements again and mixed it with chipboards and a piece of red thread. I added some brads, vintage picture of a girl and sentences cut out from an old book. In the end I added some lovely Vintage Melange Art Pebbles in golden and rose shades (they are really amazing!!!).

The newest Rust Pastes Anemone and Coral were quite intriguing to me,they had such amazing colors! I've never used shades of blue/green with orange and taupe rose before! But they turned out magical,  together they look like patina and rust - I'm in love with this effect. The newest Melange art pebbles in vintage shades of rose and amber are mesmerizing, they shine like precious stones. Blue and green shades of Opal Magic paint are perfect to create my background, but also to paint chipboard pieces. I love this color! Basically, I decided to experiment a bit with the color - and I mixed red and teal shades. I'm pretty satisfied with the effect and I'm sure the newest products of Finnabair will be my favorite ones soon! ♥
