Journey Altered Shaker Hoop by Lanette Erickson

Today I’m sharing an altered hoop with a fun shaker twist! For the base of this project, I used Finnabair’s Time Traveler’s Decoupage Fiber Paper—the vintage tones and elements are absolutely perfect for creating a steampunk-inspired background.

I then built a dimensional cluster using a mix of chipboard, metal embellishments, and resin pieces, layering them to create lots of mechanical detail. To bring everything together and add that beautifully aged look, I used plenty of Finnabair Rust Pastes for rich texture and an authentic rusty finish.

If you’d like to see how this project came together step by step, be sure to check out my full process video on the Finnabair YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this project inspires you—even in a small way—to carve out some creative time and play in your art space.

Until next time,

Hugs & FUN creating!

Lanette

Mixed-media Corset by Lanette Erickson

 Hello, my amazing creative friends!

Today I’m excited to share this beautifully detailed altered MDF Corset, created using a mix of Finnabair favorites along with a few Prima Marketing flowers. This project was all about balancing elegance, texture, sparkle, and just a hint of grunge.

The stunning bright blue base was created using Finnabair’s Decoupage Fiber Paper, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about this product. It’s incredibly easy to work with, tear-resistant, and features rich colors and dreamy patterns that instantly elevate any mixed media project.

To add extra magic and shine, I incorporated Golden Dragon Effect Paste for that perfect touch of shimmer, along with Finnabair’s Rust Paste Set to introduce subtle grungy details and beautiful aged texture. A mix of resin embellishments and Prima Marketing flowers completed the look, adding dimension and a soft, romantic contrast to the bold blue background.

If you’d like to see how this project came together step by step, be sure to check out my full process video over on the Finnabair YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this project inspires you—even in a small way—to carve out some creative time and play in your art space. 💙

Until next time,

Hugs & FUN creating!
