A Splash of Colour- mixed media project by Lori Woods

Hello creative friends! I love making grungy projects but they don't always have to be dark, sometimes a splash of bright colour and some sparkle works perfectly with them too!

I wanted a pale background so I started with a sheet of Butterfly Effects paper. I used two different stencils to create some different textures and detail.

I then created a composition with mould pieces and embellishments which I painted in Mint Impasto to create a base colour. Onto this, I added Metallique and Sparks paints for the colour and rust paste to grunge things up a little. I finished the project off with one of my favourite wax colours, Acid green.

You can see the whole project here:

Midsummer Vibes – Mixed Media Canvas by Margarita Shkludova

Hello dear friends! Margarita Shkludova is with you today.

Summer is here! So my new canvas is inspired by the mood of the Midsummer holiday - Kupalle. The history of this holiday is so old that in the modern world we don’t remember even half the meaning of all its traditions. All that remains is a feeling of mystery and connection with nature and the sun.

My canvas mixed the colours of lush greenery and the setting sun, the blue of the night sky and the gold of shining stars. Below you can find a list of all Finnabair products used.

I invite you to watch the video tutorial on creating this canvas. Enjoy watching!

Let summer fill you with new creative energy!

See you!
