Hello, creative souls! I’m Priss BlaFu (@artful.layers), and today I’m sharing an art journal spread inspired by freedom — that quiet, unstoppable force that allows us to flow and follow our own rhythm.
This page was born from the idea of being a free spirit, like a butterfly carried by the wind. I worked in my Art Daily Journal, combining texture, collage, and stitching to build layers that feel spontaneous yet intentional. At the center, a strip created with the Laurels stencil and Effect Paste Crushed Ice forms the main structure, later brought to life with Liquid Acrylics in warm, autumnal tones — Nude, True Yellow, and Burnt Sienna.
On both sides, I added torn paper strips from the Butterfly Effect collection and stitched them along with a delicate cream ribbon with tiny hearts. The irregular sewing lines, loose threads, and small details became symbols of that imperfect beauty I always chase in my work — a little chaotic, but full of charm.
For the focal point, I used one of the butterflies from the collection and created a sentiment using Word Stickers that reads “A free spirit follows the wind.” It’s a gentle reminder that sometimes we just need to trust the breeze to guide us where we’re meant to be.
If you’d like to see the full creative process, you can watch the video on Finnabair’s YouTube channel — I hope it brings you a spark of inspiration and maybe the courage to let your art take its own direction too.
Until our next creative adventure, keep creating, keep exploring, and let your spirit fly free.
