Hello Dear friends!
I'm Angie, now I present to you my new Project
It´s a Mexican curious called: Milagritos
A “milagro” translates to “miracle”, is a tradition in my country
Mexican milagritos are mainly used, as the name implies, to thank a miracle or to ask for one.
And, although they have an offering function, they have also been used as protection.
Hence, you can often see them on the doors of houses as an amulet
They are part of an ancient tradition to bring healing or as a devotional offering to request a specific need or to demonstrate gratitude for an answered prayer.
It is said that Hernán Cortés arrived in Mexico between 1519 and 1521. He was the first public figure to thank the Virgin of Guadalupe with a "milagrito" of gold and precious stones. This is for having cured him of his possible death after a bite from a black scorpion.
Made of cardboard, wood or other materials and very bright colours, shapes such as crosses or hearts are used to make them.
They can also be decorated with important characters such as Frida Kahlo or for Day of the Dead
Anything you can do with Finnabair's amazing products.
Thanks for watching
