The Tarnished Lady by Lori Woods

Hello creative friends!

I started this project with one mould element that was on my table and decided I wanted to build a story around it. I decided the vintage lady piece was going to be a little shabby and grungy but with a little of her faded looks still shining through!

I started by applying decoupage paper to a box and I deliberately wasn’t precise with it and attached in a messy way. I then applied paper texture paste around the edges to give the look of old plaster peeling away from the edges.

I created a composition from some computer parts and mechanicals and attached this inside the box. I started with liquid acrylics to give a rusty colour base and then added on some waxes for a touch of richness. I created a patina effect using some watered down Jade stone metallique paint and burnt sienna liquic acrylics. And finished off with a touch of the new Midnight Effects paste set to give some shine to areas.
