How about some super adorable fabric art this time? A simple project that will surely lighten up your homes!
Straight from Elena's heart to yours! :)
Hello, friends!
I love-love-love starting a week with the video tutorial!
Today I am going to inspire you with a soft mixed media heart. I don't really know why, but I love creating them.
They are quite fast to make and the process is very enjoyable.
First of all, you need fabric. I like working with Finnabair's Resist Canvas. They are ideal for mixed media creations. This fabric is dense and very suitable for coloring it with sprays.
So I cut out 4 bases in different sizes. I also used regular cotton fabric. After preparing my 4 bases, I took three small ones and glued them on top of each other. And after doing so, I machine stitched the front side of the heart to its back side.
Just remember not to sew the front and back parts completely and leave a little space to do the stuffing. Only then sew together the rest of fabric.
When the base is ready, it's time to start decorating the heart. I glued everything with Soft Matte Gel. It dries slowly but afterwards nothing will ever fall off.
Everything is painted with Color Bloom sprays. I love how the resist effect turned out on the canvas!
The last step is adding a few accents (like bits of lace, string, paper flowers and Mechanicals) and your piece of home decor is ready!
Enjoy the video!
Have a nice day!
Elena
