Steampunk Easter Egg by Kasia Salmanowicz

Hello,

Easter is coming, so it's time to make an Easter egg. This time I decided on an unusual decoration using gears, metal elements and pieces of fabric. Of course, you can see the whole process of creating this decoration in the tutorial on our YouTube channel. I cordially invite you to watch.

The base of my project is an egg with rabbit ears made of HDF material. I painted it with white gesso, and then glued a rice paper motif with Soft Matte Gel. I dried the whole thing and additionally secured it with Clear Gesso, which provides a colorless protective barrier.

After drying, I created a composition using metal elements and many different additions from clay and Finnabair moulds.

I colored everything with Burnt Sienna liquid acrylic paint. In previous months, these series of paints reigned supreme on the Finnabair blog due to mood boards in appropriate color tones.

Finally, I whitened everything thoroughly with white gesso, but also added silver metallic wax.

Have a nice day,

Kasia Salmanowicz
