Hello creative friends! It's coming to the end of winter and colour is starting to peep out in the garden. It's still a muted quiet colour but promises to bloom brightly in the summer. For now, the Fairy of Spring tends to her sleepy flowers and nurtures them to beauty!
I started by creating some texture on the background using stencils and pastes then applied Mint Impasto to start building the colour.
I created a focal point using moulds and mechanical elements and continued with the impasto paint. I then added splashes of colour using Liquid acrylics- these are so concentrated that you only need a little drop to create a lovely rich colour.
When everything was dry, I used the Mint Impasto again to dry brush over the surface and create a more muted look to the colours. I then took the new Sea Glass and Celestial waxes to add highlights and areas of interest over the elements. A little glitter and my Spring fairy was finished!
