Magical Christmas by Martina Stoycheva

 Hello everyone!

I love Christmas time and the magical feeling that it brings.

I made canvas inspired by the season, not with the usual green and reds, but with soft pastel colors. And since it`s a Christmas canvas I included silver and gold.

Mint and lavender Impasto colors brought the soft, mysterious spirit in my project and all the browns and mechanicals parts the depth in it.

The new Icing Paste gave this gorgeous frosty effect that I was chasing. Especially on the fern leaves. It was almost comical how I couldn`t stop adding more and more.

Addiction is right word for my feelings towards all new pastes.

The clear crackle paste made such a good visible cracks, that all I was left to do was add some mica powders in them. Touched with some white gesso on top, they look like real broken ice.

I choose some Prima flowers, focal point and it was done.

I always wonder how we go with idea and even we, the creators are sometimes surprised by the final result when it`s ready. Such was the case with this one for me. And I gotta tell you that I love how it turned out. Hopefully you will too.

Here is my video process for you all:

I wish you all truly magical Christmas!

Hugs, Martina.
