Hello friends,
Our tradition of Ambassadors' post on the blog means, that today is the day :) The host is Kassa Hayselden with theme focused on lush layers, paper, lace and a touch of frost. Our fabulous Ambassadors: Aga Baraniak, Tusia Lech and Linda Cain are also up with their beautiful projects. Enjoy!
Hi loVelies - hope you are all keeping safe & well.
So haPPy to be back over here and sharing a little Christmas inspiration. So It was my turn to think up this month’s theme so I had to throw glitter in the mix just for Christmas that is definitely just around the corner & I popped in lush layers using, paper, fabric, lace etc And Art Alchemy paints for splashes of colour.....l do hope you will enjoy this month theme mix & perhaps feel the urge to have fun & create along with us with the promos & inspiration x
It’s been such a wonderful way to spend a couple or 3 days creating some festive cheer, especially as we are still in this lockdown. It’s really put me in the Christmassy spirit & I’m ready to decorate the house now teehee!
For sometime now I’ve had a yearning to create one of these paper-pieced Christmas trees. And it’s sooooooo good cos you can use up all those leftover scraps of your patterned papers, lace & favourite fabric pieces. A mix of Finnabair’s Soft Matte Gel & 3D Matte Gel are the perfect adhesives for sticking your layers together. The Soft Gel is a more gentle adhesive so for the paper pieces & fabric ,Tis perfect & the 3D Gel adheres the most challenging of pieces rock solid!
The background board was covered with a generous helping of Gesso - (tip: now I always keep a pot or 2 of Gesso, perhaps 1/4 full or less, tucked away in a cupboard, stirred occasionally to let the air get to it & dry up a touch & thicken beautifully with the natural drying process - or if I’m desperate I add a little talcum powder to thicken instead lol) Finnabair’s Gesso is on the thicker side anyways so her thicker/heavy Gesso is great to work with as it’s come to us or thickened a little like I loVe too - so why thicken? It allows me to drag it across my board with one of the fabulous Silicone Brushes, creating amazing textures & my fav is to gouge lines/hearts/words through it with a pointy tool before it dries x
And I had great fun with the Paper Paste I simply threw dollops of it at my board and ohhhhhh the joy of these splatters - swooning swooning swooning....
I will list below the other products that I gradually layered up to create some Christmas Sparkle, Impasto paints, Sparks Paint, Liquid Acrylic paints (don’t you just loVe the white Liquid Acrylic drips - they stand right off the board!) Plus I used Waxes, Mechanicals, glitters in my final layers....yup 2 to 3 days of LUSH layers teehee & great joy in my soul....
Hugs again, love again Kassa xoxoxo
HaPPy Christmas (hope you receive a stash of Finnabair’s products in your Christmas stockings from your wish list - especially as there’s the new release which I’m itching to get my hands on!)

Hello everyone. Our theme Kassa chose is so wonderful - Lush Layers, paper, lace and a touch of frost. I tried to use a bit of all those wonderful things to create this project.
It’s been hard for everyone lately around the world. My husband and I recently moved to an area that is very close to the Mississippi River. We like to visit the walking path there to find a peaceful time of the day. I decided to collect some drying twigs and flowers to use for my piece this time.
I started with the back of a canvas and covered it with gel and tissue papers. The next layer was from an old favorite of Finn’s - Sunrise Sunset paper pad. The colors were perfect. I sprayed a mixture of mica powder and water to add some shine. Metallique paints are dusted here and there. Then I used paper texture paste and a stencil to give a few areas some depth. The last step here was a couple of stamped images to fill in spots.
Inside the frame I added several laces with soft gel and added liquid acrylics, paints, and white gesso. A mixture of glass glitter and micro beads is layered around the background to give it a sense of frosted ice. The paper flower and the casting are painted with white pearl, and a wash of umber on the casting gives it contrast.
The dried flowers are sprayed with the mica spray. A touch of art sugar and white pearl paint give them the look of frost. I painted some teal and amethyst on the mechanicals and glued them in place. The antique label is added in a bed of cheese cloth and 3D matte medium. The shiny trim just makes the frame sparkle. I hope you’re inspired to play. Be safe. Be well.

Today I have decided to prepare a very gentle inspiration with waxes which are the product that you can always use in various techniques. I have prepared a diary cover that takes me back to the times when my grandmother was sewing.
Lace communion dresses... those were the times when there was a plethora of lace at home but then I didn't know. I loved them so much.
The whole vintage vibe was made by the waxes... they are my must-have in the drawer. Even though one can't see strong media usage in my projects, I can't imagine not adding a final touch with Finnabair media to almost all my creations! Finnabair products add that "spice" and are a cherry on top, that misses sometimes in pure paper projects. It's impossible not to love Finnabair media!
The white mat wax works wonderfully on the surface with metallic waxes and altogether they give a beautiful shabby finish.
To make lace sturdy, I used some media. That way lace will not get dirty in its "everyday life" :)

Hello friends,
Seeing the theme suggested by Kassa, I immediately knew, what I wanted to create :) In my living room there is a wall with canvases and other home-decor pieces, that I have created. And for some time I was longing for something green with a touch of frost, that would have a form of dream-catcher :) I even bought some hdf bases and just waited, when the moment was right. And this month theme for Ambassadors was the perfect timing :)
The first layer on my base is Finnabair White Crackle Paste. Than you will find huge piece of lase and Mini Art Stones. These products was my background. Then I started working with colours: Liquid Acrylics (I love them!!!) diluted with Liquid Acrylic Medium (I always use it, when I am working with Liquid Acrylics - I love the effect much more than using water), Art Alchemy Metallique Paints, Art Alchemy Sparks.
When I finished that stage, I started buiding layers with chipboard pieces, hdf elements and Finnabair Mechanicals. Heavy Body Gel is the best option to keep everything on place.
Once everything dried, I covered all the elements with Heavy White Gesso. Than I started working with colours - same as for background. Once everything dried, I used Finnabair Metallique and Matte Waxes.
Finishing touches was made with Snowflake Paste and Unicorn Paste - I love them both for gorgeous shimmery and snowy effect! And that's it! I hope you enjoyed my project.
Wishing you a great day!
Tusia Lech
