Mixed-media journals

Hello friends,
Sometimes in our drawers or closets there are objects, that we do not like or do not use anymore, but we can give them a new life using mixed media supplies. This is what Kasia Bogatko did with two journals. Watch her creative process in video tutorial she shares with us today.

Hello friends!
Today I have for you two small notebooks. I don't even know where they came from to my drawer, but I did not quite like them and decided to change them. I was mainly interested in giving them some structure, spaciousness, but in order to still be comfortable to use them.

I started by gluing wood pieces to the covers. Later, I covered the entire surface with white gesso, thanks to which the paper became more resistant to water. Then I used a graphite paste to give the cover a grain. I liked the paste from the new Texture Fantasy series very much. They have beautiful colors and delicate structures, they suited me very well here.

I didn't want the covers to be too spacious, so I added only resin frames and cardboard. It was enough to add only matching subtitles and my project was ready.

I invite you to watch my video tutorial and encourage you to get inspired by my project.

Thank you for visiting our blog today!
Kasia
