Free to fly

Dear friends,
My new Icing Pastes are very versatile. My talented team uses them in so many creative ways! Today Tanyalee Kahler shows you her art-journal spread with amazing flowers. Delicious video tutorial showing how she created these amazing 3D petals with Icing Pastes awaits you.

I was so excited when it was finally time to start playing with the new Icing Pastes from Finnabairs collection. They had been sitting on my shelf for some time waiting for the right time.

My favourite creative genre is art journaling so I pulled out my Moleskine Watercolour journal and glued in a collage layer. I used vintage book paper and a napkin that I separated. I loved the floral print on the napkin and decided to use that as a starting point for working with the icing pastes.

I wanted the pastes to create some texture and represent the petals of the flowers. So, I went about painting the different colours onto the spread.

I also knew I wanted to create a whimsical feel and chose a sweet young girl from an ephemera collection and added some butterfly wings to make her into a fairy. I used the Don’t Forget to Fly cling stamp set to stamp some butterflies on deli paper for it’s transparency.

And as a final touch I added some fairy dust in the form of glitter and glass glitter to various parts of the spread.

Some hidden journaling filled the remaining white space, and a sentiment sticker created my title.

I hope you have taken some inspiration from my spread. And please try to get your hands on some of the beautiful new icing pastes. They are delightful to work with.

For vintage music lover

Hi my lovelies,
Being a scrapbooker or a mixed-media artist we have an ability to create personalized gifts. Our friends, our closest ones are people, we know well, so we can prepare something, that will be awesome surprise for them. Marta altered a paper box using an old audio cassette. Isn't it a brilliant idea?!

Hello friends! It's Marta here. Today for you I prepared mixed media home decor piece, which was created for someone, who loves vintage music and old tapes. I mixed vintage style with some mechanical elements and metallic shine.

I used paper round box, which you can decorate in any possible way you want. At first I decided to cover it with a layer of black gesso. I used wide brush to create smooth, matte surface in the background.

Later on I applied Icing Paste through the checkered stencil. It created a lovely, shiny pattern. I love Icing Paste, it has an amazingly rich color and beautiful, sparkling shine.

I added some metal elements, mechanicals, melange art pebbles, mini knobs, gears etc to create interesting details in the background. I covered them with black gesso again. I used an audio cassette as the main element of the composition on the box. I added tiny metal wings and a mini knob and I covered cassette with black gesso.

In the end I covered cassette and metal elements with mixed waxes to blend a few colors together. I used four colors of waxes to create rich, shiny surface. I applied waxes with a brush.
You can use even an old cassette to create personalized, special gift. All you have to do is to add a bit of your heart, a drop of creativity and some lovely Finnabair products!

Hello there, lovely creative friends!
Today I'd like to share with you my inspiration - a mixed media canvas with new Art Extravagance Icing Pastes. I chose three pastes - White Gold, Amethyst Magic, Frosty Pearl.
Amethyst Magic Icing Paste has such a beautiful cosmic color that I decided to make a canvas about our desires and space.

In this work, I used pastes slightly diluted with water. I was curious the effect. I applied them with a brush. Oh, how much they shine!!!! It is a real pleasure to work with these pastes!

I made splashes of White Gold Icing Paste. Wet, beautiful, so hard to stop! )))

After drying, the pastes darken and acquire a beautiful radiance. I also tinted the star. One jar can replace a set! You can apply icing pastes through a stencil, toning with them, making beautiful streams by diluting them with water, drawing ... I am breathless from ideas and possibilities!

I have prepared a video tutorial for you so that you can see the materials. I hope you enjoy viewing!

I believe that the universe listens to us. Our desires and dreams. You just need to understand what is most important for you right now. Focus on what's important. And remember that great things take time.
