Calmnes... seriously? I don't know this word. I don't know why and how it is possible, but there is always something, I'm always running, new challenges and new perspectives are chasing me and if not - you can be sure I will find something new to do anyway! These pages made in Tymonsyl's journal should be inspired by calmness - and threy are reflection of my thoughts... and my first attempt to push myself further in the "Scecond Floor" challenge proposed by 2 amazing artists, Nat Klabach and Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. The challnge was to create something in a new way, out our comfort zone and use gold paint for this creation. My comfort zone for sure are gel mediums and structural pastes - so intentionally I didn't put them on this project despite the fact they were calling me on the top of their voices. It would be so easy to make some textural elemrnts on my "fake hairstyle" and I was almost ready to put on it some rubbish or metal elements... but no! This time I made the texture just with paper, glue and paint - applied mostly with fingers (yeah!) and stamped with a sponge - the one on the top of Gold Dabber paint. Did I step on the second floor? I hope so, but I consider it as a first small step.
For creating this pages I used 2 Sizzix dies - Decorative Strips by Tim Holtz. As always, I want to invite you to Sizzix blog, where you can learn more about this project - watching me creating it step by step, creating textures just with paper, glue and paint. Enjoy!
