Today I am sharing my take on this month’s beautiful mood board that is inspired by the New Dreamy Liquid Acrylic Set.

This set is a Pastel mix of colors that are absolutely Dreamy Together! But I really didn’t have anything in mind for this color combo, So I decided to alter a paint brush.

Dreamy Butterflies by Lori Woods

Dreamy Butterflies mixed media project

Hello creative friends! Our moodboard this month is with the last of the new liquid acrylic sets, Dreamy, and the colours are very dreamy! 

I decided to use pieces from the Nocturnal Insects mould as the main focus for my project. I built up the project using elements from the Mirror Frame mould and mechanical flowers, with chipboard for background detail. 

I applied the Fresh Mint and Atoll Blue paints over areas of the project with water to allow them to flow into all the details. I then dry brushed over the background pieces but left the central mould elements so it would stand out more. Watered down Burnt Sienna liquid acrylic was then added to create shadow and pick out areas of detail.

For the finishing touches I added White Pearl and Mint Sparkle wax to highlight details on the butterfly wings and pebble elements.

Here is the fourth moodboard straight from Finnabair. What's in it? Of course, another set of paints from the liquid acrylic paint series - Dreamy Set.

Today I invite you to a tutorial created with just such a mix of colors. The whole project was created on one of my HDF bases. For this, I used two sets of Finnabair cardboards, which I glued with Soft Matte Gel. Next, I created a composition from elements made of modeling clay and Finn moulds. There are really a lot of them in the Mixed Media Place store, so if you don't have them yet, it's worth catching up.

Later I added metal flowers and art peebles. I painted the whole composition with White Gesso and after thoroughly drying I used Dreamy Set paints. Of course, at the end I lightened everything again using white gesso.
