Altered violin by Anat Weksler

Hello Friends!
How are you all, this days? for this stressing days I decided to alter a Violin.
You will see in the video the process is  uncomplicated and the result is a fabulous piece!

For creating the background of the smaller part I used 2 different Tissue papers, White Crackle paste and Gothic Stencil.

I embellished the piece with lots of gorgeous Mechanicals and colored them with amazing Art Alchemy Metalic paints which I adore.

Well,  to see exactly how I made it you will have to watch the Video Tutorial:

Hope you feel inspired to make something for yourself! I would love to see it if you do.

Thanks for stopping by!
xoxo

Brand Ambassadors' Spotlight

Dear friends,
Today we are here to inspire you with projects created by Brand Ambassadors.

This month the host is Riikka Kovasin and her idea for this month was time and usage of any Gel Medium. Below you will find projects by 3 talented ladies: Riikka Kovasin, Keren Tamir and Karen Hayselden. Enjoy this inspiring journey!

Time Marches On
When it was my time to choose the topic of the Spotlight, I couldn’t choose anything else than the gels. I refer to gesso and gel medium as a dynamic duo, so as gesso was the topic of the first Spotlight ever, I just had to pick the other, the gels.

I love the fact that there’s different gels in Finnabair range. You’re able to find a suitable medium whether you do flat collages, want to make your own paints or love building texture heavy assemblages. I usually favor the 3D Gel as it’s perfect consistency to be applied with fingers – and I’m always sticking my fingers to all the jars. You can also use a wet brush to apply it and use it almost like Soft Gel if you have run out of the actual softer bodied version.

My other topic for the Spotlight was time. Partly the theme was due to the spring and beginning of the year, but mostly I got the idea from the only down point of the gels – drying time. Naturally that depends where you live, though! Here in Finland it’s usually an overnight and then the gel is dry thoroughly. In warmer, drier climates it takes less time to dry.

I used all of the three gels in Finnabair’s range in my make. I also made a little video of my make, hope you like it!

“Time to create” Art Journal Page

I loved creating this art journal page in the new Finnabair Kraft Paper Journal. The prompt this month was using gel and the theme was time.  I used 3D Matte Gel to mask a stamped area so It would resist the Metallique paints when applied through a stencil.

It’s a fun technique and the layout came out different than my usual ones.  I used the new Mind Games stencil to create the checkered pattern and added other embellishments as focal points.

So happy to be over here once again & share a little creativity (well I’m saying little but it’s a large 18” x 14” canvas) full of bright colours, yummy texture and whimsy… Dabbling in my paints with my fingers felt good and took me to a happy place, it was fun when I experimented with one of my favourite pastes the ‘Blue Patina Effect Paste’. After I mixed it with the ‘Texture Powder’ the paste thickened and I was able to pull it over the stencils beautifully. I’ve never used the powder with the pastes before, I usually mix it with the paints but, how exciting when you try something new and it works!

So, my ‘Time For Tea’ idea came easy as I’m always drinking tea! I hope this piece that I’ve poured my heart & happiness into will leave you with a smile.
Warmest of hugs to everyone in these hard, hard times,
Kassa x

Have a great day!!
