Vintage Collage Canvas by Anat Weksler

Hello mixed media friends!
It's Anat here. Today I want to share my new project - a Vintage Collage Canvas.

The Canvas was inspired by a Mix of Finnabair's collage projects and Carmen Miranda images!  Carmen Miranda was a gorgeous and colorful Brazilian Singer, who always used on her head Fruits & Flowers Adornment.

I created it in a Vintage style using the amazing Woman image from Carte Postale Tissue paper which covers almost the entire Canvas.

To color the Canvas and match the image I used some wonderful Art Alchemy Liquid Acrylics paints.

Watch the step by step process here:

Hope I have inspired you to create and use these delicious products!

 Thank you for stopping by!
xoxo

How have I started Mixed-Media? - Video by Finnabair

Hi my dear creative Friends!
I'm back from the Creative World in Frankfurt and slowly going back to my usual tasks, but I have to tell you - it is not possible to compare the atmosphere of shows like that to anything else! The energy, the meetings and all the creative atmosphere of the event is something which is going to give me the power to go for a long time. If you would like to see photos from the event you can check my IG account here - it was delicious, believe me!

In the meantime, I want to share something quite special with you.
During my classes, I'm quite often asked questions about my first steps and creativity and mixed-media. My creative journey and inspirations. I love this kind of interaction with my students when I can share my personal story and insight hoping to give them encouragement and support. But... why not talking to a bit wider audience?

So, if you ever wondered how I started my adventure with crafting and mixed-media... here it is!
All the information: when it all happened, what were my reasons and inspirations, and 1 or 2 projects from the first 2 years of my scrapbooking/mixed-media career to spice it up a bit.

I hope you enjoyed watching it - don't forget to share with your friends!
Sending love and creative energy your way

Altered wooden slice by Tiffany Solorio

I created my project on a wood slice. It is fun to do and something different. I started by covering the top of the wood slice with clear gesso.

I added some texture with some Paper paste and a stencil. After that was dry I used the fabric from Finnabair and ripped it into strips. I then added the strips to the wood using Heavy body gel. I did not add too much gel to the fabric as I wanted some of the fabric to be lose from the wood.

I added a lot of different embellishments from Finnabair. I added color and depth to the project using some liquid acrylics. I finished the project with a few splatters and finishing touches. Be sure to check out the video to see how I created the project.
