Deep Water

Happy Friday everyone!
Today we're presenting my metal phone frame altered by Irina. We hope this most magical project will make you want to create your own little world too.

Hello dear friends! Irina Honcharyk with you today!
I'd like to introduce to you a new project of mine. It is Finnabair's metal phone frame which I altered and turned into a marine inspired object. I love the sea, don't you?
The frame has this stunning vintage vibe that made me fall in love with it right away and I wanted to transform it into something truly magical...

Below you will find a video (in 2 parts) that I made for you so that you can see how I created my underwater piece. :)
Let me just say that I used lots of Art Basics products like Clear and White Gesso, Gel medium and also different kinds of Art Extravagance Pastes to add this special textured touch to my vintage frame. You will find the full list of products below.

Art Ingredients like Mica Powders, Glass Beads and Micro Beads helped me add these special delicate touches of magical texture.
All the magical creatures come from 7Dots Studio Destination Unknown collection.
Here are some more details of my project:

Thank you for your attention! Stay creative and enjoy the video! :)
Irina

Angel of Music - Mixed-media Collage on canvas

Hi there my dear friends. I hope you had a great creative week!
I'm on the point of going to Frankfurt now - and those of you who are coming to Paperworld and Creativeworld Show can meet me at 2 booths: Prima (4.2/G-15) and Notions Marketing :)
I hope to see you there - just in case, here is the schedule of my Prima demos :)

In the meantime I'd like to share one of my latest projects with you - "Angel of Music" collage which I've made a few weeks ago. Some of you could see it displayed at Prima booth during Winter CHA in Anaheim - but I think it is high time to share it here on the blog too!

"Angel of Music" - 20x50 cm collage/assemblage on canvas

I think it is not hard to guess it was inspired by my husband's passion for music - from all the arts and crafts this one is the closes to his heart and I have to admit it is pure pleasure to see his joy when he gets new CD of his favourite band or musician or when he takes his guitar out to play and practice a bit.
Working on this composition I wanted to show as much as possible of his personality, interests... and  let me tell you, putting this all together was pure fun!

There are tons of meaningful objects used - cords, jacks, mini speakers, music box and electronic parts just to name few of them. As always I used my Art Basics to glue it all together - this time I used my new Heavy Body Gel and I have to say I'm delighted with the result - works faster and gets more solid than the other mediums from the range, just as I planned!

The whole concept started with the background of course - I used some of his old CDs to create first layer of texture on the stretched canvas. I was hoping this idea will work well... and it is better than I expected. I love the dimension and beautiful round pattern... just perfect! I spicied it up a bit adding diamond shapes - I used Art Basics Modeling Paste and one of my stencils.

Painting process was one of the most exciting ones: I was finally able to use some of my new Art Alchemy paints in combination with Pixie Dust Sprays and Art Basics White and Black Heavy Gesso. Can I tell you I just can't wait when they will show up on the market and people will start playing with them ? Just look at this beautiful glow of the drips - Opal Magics made their trick, don't you think? With a sprinkle of Mica Powders and a bit of patience my collage was ready and I have to tell you - my husband is happy with the results too :)

Check your shelves, drawers, boxes, garage, kitchen and attics - you may find the most surprising and inspiring bits and pieces... why not using them for your next project?
I hope I sent you some inspiration today - stay tuned for the next beautiful project with tutorial from my Creative Team - coming this Friday!
Sending hugs and love

p.s. As far as I know Prima is going to start shipping of my Mechanicals, paints and Art Ingredients in the last days of January - so make sure you will check with your favourite shop and maybe give them some hints what is on your wishlist?

You Are Unique!

Hello Friends!
Time for some new inspiration from my Creative Team!
Today - beautiful affirmations on a layout created by Athanasia. She's also sharing a video of her creative process to inspire you all. What would be your uplifting message? :)

Hello dear friends! I found this amazing photo on Pinterest and thought it would be perfect to express some of my thoughts and personal believes: How awesome is to be me! To be different from the rest of the crowd and feel good about it!
So I created a layout full of colors, contrast, little messages, butterflies and a really beautiful elephant. :)

For this project I used a lot of butterfly stamps in different shapes - you can find them in Rust&Dust and Dream On sets. I decided to cut out my stamped butterflies and turn them into 3D embellishments to decorate the composition.
I also used a Lace stencil in a different way, 2 shades of Mica Powder (Green and Purple), Heavy White Gesso and of course a lot of Glass Beads and Glass Glitter mixed with 3D Gloss Gel.
You can see the whole process in my video below.
Here are some details...

I hope you will find my video inspiring and get some new ideas!

Thank you for visiting!
Have a lovely crafty day!
